Has any got a Accel SLM tuner on their bike.

I'm looking to buy one in the next month or so and would love to hear about their thoughts on them.

Anyone with before and after comparisons? Comments on how their bike runs now. Hot/cold, MPG, throttle response.

I switched over to an Accel single fire bout 6  years ago on my 94 evo rat bike. Better response, and a whole lot easier to tune and make minor adjustments on. In fact, had access to a dyno when I did it. Other than a quicker response, dont expect anything else in performance. The curve to the top was about 6% faster if I am remembering correctly. Better torque on the bottom range but less MPH on the top. But when you can still hit 127, does it really matter? It IS more reliable though! Haven't touched it since installing.

Umm...He's asking about the Accel SLM. That's a fuel management system for a fuel injected bike. An Accel single fire system is an ignition system. Totaly different things.

And no, I don't know anything about the SLM from personal experience. It seems kind of pricey as opposed to a SERT, Power Commander, or others.

Like DUH!  I must have been sleeepy last night. All I saw was was the "Accel" And took it from that. Yea, I know what the SLM is. No experiance with that here either. If it is "Injected" anything, I generally want nothing to do with it.

Yea, you can teach old dogs new tricks, but some of us just dont want to learn em!

Yeah, I figured it was just a mis-read. I mean, when this old dog sees "Accel" I normally think of coils and wires and modules and anything else to do with stupid-fucking-trons.

But for the OP, if you do get one, let us know how it works out, will you? The concept, (as far as the advertising claims) looks appealing, but like you, I'd like to hear some real-world experiences.

One other thing to maybe consider though, is how servicable is the system? I mean, if you have say, a PC-V, and you start having problems a long way from home, you could probably find any good shop, relatively local, that could help you out. Any local shop that has a Dyno is going to know how to diagnose a PC, but they might come up scratching with the Accel unit.

I use Accel Coil & Plug Wires runs great on SBC 350 currently in my Chevy Pick-up..It has everything scooped up for street rod and looks bad ass!
My new Harley has everything stock for now and plan to upgrade it to 110 or 120 Screaming eagle to get more horsepower.

Why do you want more horsepower?
