It's only thirteen miles long and follows the Potomac River from Harpers Ferry to Sharpsburg, Md on the Maryland side.  While a short ride it has plenty of curves as you run the river basin and then begin a gradual climb coming into the battle grounds of Antiem in fact at one point crossing the Antiem Creek.  When you get into the small town of Sharpsburg you can stop for a local favorite Nutters Ice Cream and if that is not to your liking a turn to the right and Benders Tavern is there  When your finished just a mile way is the vistor center for the Battle of Antiem.  Oh I forgot to mention you have to keep in mind that on a hot summers at the request of General Lee Jackson rushed his troops those same 13 miles some with no shoes to hold the center of Lee's line.  Enjoy
