It's a good point. We've been manipulated into change, but I'm not sure anyone really knows what's supposed to have changed. Things are better when they're simple. I'm curious what would really change if we discarded political correctness. It's made us tentative, overly sensitive, and confused, and that fuels our complacency as a society. We hesitate, or we say or do nothing at all. We're so busy thinking of how to say the right things so as not to "offend" people. We're like a society with too much time on our hands.
Wonder if someone started a group on the site and see if we can get back to clear and simple - see what the topics would be, what the language would be, and how many people it would offend...or not.

We observe a certain political correctness, here on the site, even though we like to think of ourselves as free thinkers. Some statements, some attitudes are not to be questioned, and looking up our little definitions won't leave other subjects open enough for everyone's opinion to be an acceptable one.
