well, y'all know how I feel about 'brotherhood'....same as 'all men are created equal'...does this exclude women? I shouldn't be excluded from a bike group because of my sex. I can be as loyal, dependable, fierce, etc as any guy. Do I want to live the life of a brother..no.

True that, that's what I thought when they broke out their little definitions. And it's true, I believe Sharon to be more of brother then alot of guys on here, true she is a woman but I do believe she'd have my back if something broke out and she could probably kick some male ass, don't let the pretty looks fool you, and I mean Sharon, not me.

Sharon is sister to alot of people on here male and female and Dave is right about the fact she will have your back no matter if it is male or female...brotherhood is exactly that men who have a bonding between other men who they know will be there thru anything life throws at them...no matter if it is a fight between others or if it is during times of war... but it is also good to know that when you have female friends like Sharon and many others on here that they also have the balls to be there for you no matter what happens.............

Most of you do have the true meaning and feelings of a BROTHER. This is great and important during this messed up time. Too bad we can't come up with one word for both Brothers and Sisters. Of course this has nothing to do with blood brothers or sisters. It's true, there are women who are as much a brother to other women and men, as any brother, in the sense of the written word. As far as dictionary definitions go, many Clubs and Fraternities call members Brother. That meaning, for the most part, is entirely different. And, sadly, too many bikers use the term Brother among themselves, sometimes too freely. But, still, we cannot judge or determine what's in their heart. That's where true brotherhood-sisterhood begins. Keep doing, thinking, and feeling the way you are.... most of you've got it right! As for me, I have one younger brother and only a few other men I feel I could call brother, but don't. Your ideas and opionions may vary.

Wow! I feel overwhelmed here! I had no idea this thread was gonna go in this direction brother Spark...hell I did'nt think it would be a deal that I was the first to comment on "brotherhood" beings Im a woman. I too, took the comment or two from FM as a joke really..not taking shit these days too personal. What fun is life if you cant take a joke or two..I often manage to come up with a good come back joke now and again.
Damn brother Big Fuck'n Dave~ You are truly my brother that I hold so dear to my heart! and yes I would have your back in ANY situation no matter the outcome! What you said about me, makes me feel really good! Beyond words good! love you my brother!
Also my brother Clem, You fuck'n rock! Im glad that you see me as your sister cuz you know I'll always be there for you and Peachy..no matter what! Love you both very much!
Sister Char and others like our sister Lady Wolf & Toni..a few others on this site..again (you know who you are) I love my sisters like you were my own blood! there is NOTHING I wouldnt do for you either if'n I had the means! Those who know me..this didnt even have to be added....but didnt want to leave our Mother of all sisters outta this mix! She is truly THE sister that always has your back!!
Brother Spark, just now reading what you posted, means so much to me too! This very thread, would sure nuff make my brother proud of me and proud to know you all and call you brothers like I do! This right here...is exactly what I was trying to say.."brotherhood"! Right on!! Right the fuck on!! Looks as though even though Im a woman..a sister..I still understand the meaning of brotherhood! I HAVE lived it and I DO live it! So Im a woman big fuck'n deal! lol! again..lets party!!!

so I just had to go and Google it for all ya'll BROS (I anit your fucking bro) out there. Did you know that there are 54,500,000 sits for brotherhood and 379,000 for biker brotherhood . What crock of crap , I'll go along with HDW and Dave and Clem . But I'm thinking maybe it's so much more, it's in your soul, it's life it's how you feel for that person. Some times it goes beyond any thing you can explain. Example, Just yesterday I spoke to an Old BROTHER, I haven't spoke to him in 20yrs , it was if no time had passed between us. When You have true Brothers thats the way it is. had to explain to those of you that have never felt it. So thats my answer it's that feeling between you and those you call BROTHER. Oh and just so you'll know I could never call Shari my brother ( thats just to weird, and shes way more than a sister ) . But I would never worry about my back if she packing with me.

Wilfred Owen said it best I think:
Nevertheless, except you share With them in hell the sorrowful dark of hell, Whose world is but a trembling of a flare And heaven but a highway for a shell,
You shall not hear their mirth: You shall not come to think them well content By any jest of mine. These men are worth Your tears: You are not worth their merriment.

Brotherhood to me is like the clan system that existed in Scotland in years gone by. Its in the blood, something that cant be bought but can be earned, a common interest or goal. I served 9 years in the British Army, trusted my brothers with my life and they trusted me with theirs. If you havent experienced that feeling then you would never fully understand how deep brotherhood can be.
