Title: prayers for Debi
Description: Debi's Story On February 26, 2010 Debi was diagnosed with advanced Stage III anal cancer. She was told it would have to be treated very aggressively. The Radiation Oncologist said the tumor itself was the size of a plum. She was about to be faced with 6 weeks of intense radiation and 2 kinds of chemotherapy. On March 30, 2010 Debi began radiation and her first round of chemotherapy. The chemotherapy consisted of an IV push and 96 consecutive hours of chemotherapy flowing through a pump. After only 1 week of treatment, Debi was admitted into Kennestone Hospital with numerous complications from the chemotherapy. She had dropped 10 pounds, her blood pressure was 82/64, and she had a severe case of thrush from her nasal cavity down her entire GI tract and therefore could not eat or swallow. Her white blood count was down to 4.8 and dropped even lower during her stay to an unbelievable 2.1. Her color was gray and she was dangerously dehydrated. While in the hospital Debi was consulted by numerous doctors and told that the treatment had to go on and that in 2 weeks she would have to undergo surgery to remove the cancerous tumor. She has 22 more radiation treatments to go through and another round of chemotherapy. Her medical bills have reached $30,000.00 thus far and she has no medical insurance. The cost of one of her many prescriptions is over $300.00. The first round of 9 radiation treatments cost $20,000 and she has 22 left, which is close to $50,000.00. The first chemotherapy treatment was $2550.00 and she has 1 more to go as far as we know but that too could change. She has surgery coming up, another hospital stay, and numerous provider fees from 5 separate specialists’. The treatments are beginning to take its toll as is the financial burden of medical bills. This is why we are asking for your financial support. A monetary donation of any amount would go a long way in this particular case. check out the website: http://www.debiprayers.com
